Outlook Toolbar Basic Use

John Scarborough: Now that you have your Outlook toolbar installed and configured, it’s time to learn some of its basic functions. The first thing that we’ll want to look at is the Services button to the right of the Options button. This allows you to activate and configure features the way that you want. This gives you access to many of the services in your account such as call forwarding always, busy and no answer and if you’re on a Top 30 Feature Package, it will give you access to simultaneous ring.

To perform a real user convenience known as ‘click and dial”, you can easily dial from your contacts in Outlook. All you have to do is open up your contacts and click on one. Once you have a contact selected, click on the feature that says, “Dial contact” on the Outlook toolbar. Then you use the pull down menu to select if it’s the home, business or mobile number that you want to dial. Once you select this from the pull down menu, it will call your phone and once you answer your phone, it will then dial the number you have selected.

Also available on your Outlook toolbar is call history. This is a great feature that automatically logs your most recent answered, placed and missed calls. Click and dial from call history to conveniently dial back anyone from the log. Also using the group directory function on the toolbar gives you easy access to any other user or contact who is built within your enterprise calling group.
