IP5280 UNVEILS ON-PREMISE VERSION OF CLOUD-BASED COMPUTING PLATFORM

DENVER, August 2, 2010 – IP5280 Communications, a national business voice over IP and unified communications leader, today unveiled IPoffice from IP5280, the on-premise version of CLOVER, the company’s cloud-based computing platform. CLOVER’s patent-pending architecture leverages a network of best-of-breed feature servers – including Broadsoft, Microsoft OCS and open source – to deliver optimal performance, increased redundancy and enhanced customization capabilities at a lower cost point.
Designed specifically to optimize the performance of VoIP and SIP communications, a hosted version of CLOVER (CLoud Over Enterprise Resources), IPhosted from IP5280, was launched in March. By offering an on-premise version as well, IP5280 customers now have the option of maintaining their own customized on-site communications system while still reaping the benefits of CLOVER.
“We developed CLOVER to free businesses from the restrictions of the existing IP communications model and to offer them the flexibility to design their VoIP system to best suit their business needs,” said Jeff Pelletier, chief technology officer for IP5280. “By giving businesses the option of an on-prem model, we’re offering them independence from the old traditional phone companies and greater flexibility than currently available in hosted VoIP.”
CLOVER utilizes a foundation of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) servers to connect with a cloud-based network of best-of-breed feature servers – including Broadsoft, Microsoft OCS and open source. Based on each customer’s specific communication needs, CLOVER will route calls and data through the server(s) that provide the highest level of performance at the lowest cost point. This unique, patent-pending design enables IP5280 to offer customers “googlesque” type reliability at a much lower cost point.
“This type of customization is typically cost prohibitive for the small and medium size business market, but now IP5280’s prem-based and hosted CLOVER communication solutions allow us to integrate high performance services at low cost to meet all business customer’s needs,” adds Pelletier.
